As part of the Schwarz Group's holistic and international plastic strategy REset Plastic, we are taking responsibility locally with the river cleaning project "River Cleanup Collective - Together for Cleaner Rivers @Danube": In a joint campaign, groups from the two retail divisions Kaufland and Lidl will be ridding the Danube of waste in the fall of 2022. Across divisions, around 3,000 people from 15 national companies of Lidl and Kaufland are joining forces to clean up one of Europe's most plastic-polluted rivers. Every year, around 20 tons of waste are discharged into the sea via the Danube. With their commitment, groups from Lidl and Kaufland are working directly on site to clean up the river and show how one can take global responsibility through local action.
