We take responsibility
The colleagues from Lidl Poland carried out their campaign on the Warta River. About 800 volunteers collected almost two tons of garbage in two days.
The "WARTA is worth cleaning up" campaign was organized by Lidl Poland and the "Our Earth" Foundation and was part of the Schwarz Group's Group-wide "River Cleanup Collective".
It was a great event, the impact of which exceeded the expectations of the organizers. On Thursday and Friday, September 8 and 9, up to 800 volunteers came to three collection points in the city of Poznan. Pupils from elementary schools, high schools and technical schools, athletes, nature lovers and employees of Lidl Poland, together with the "Our Earth" Foundation, collected almost two tons of garbage. 300 kg of it alone was plastic, mainly plastic bottles and food packaging. Among the trash, which was taken directly from the river, were also: a bicycle, a refrigerator, garden chairs, tires, a toilet bowl and a baby carriage. The event was accompanied by information stands prepared by the partners: Lidl Poland, the Waste Management Company in Poznan and the Poznan City Hall, which organized a special contest to collect bottle caps. More than 30 kg of them were collected.
