We take responsibility
In the course of the River Cleanup Collective @Danube, which was initiated by the Schwarz Group across divisions and countries, and on the occasion of World Cleanup Day on September 17, Lidl in Germany participated in and supported an international cleanup campaign. This was done for the environment, but also in connection with the sustainability strategy, in which Lidl aims to reduce plastic as much as possible by 2025. The aim was to "tackle the problem at source". For this reason, Lidl Germany launched the campaign at the source of the Danube - because "Brigach and Breg bring the Danube to way". During the action, 7 bicycles, an e-scooter, mattresses, among other things, were found. The action was a super teambuilding activity and was a lot of fun for the volunteers. After each of the 4 actions, there was a small get-together. The goal to clean up the environment from waste and to tackle the problem at the source has reached its goal with almost a ton of waste.
